The 2020 campaign manager of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor Joshua Alabi, described the team of John Dramani Mahama and Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as the best couple for the country’s leadership.

Professor Alabi made the comment in an exclusive interview with Accra News’ Nana Yaw Adwenpa on Wednesday, September 9, 2020.

The NDC 2020 Campaign Manager described the decision to elect Professor Opoku-Agyemang not only as a good decision, but also as one that will have enormous benefits for the country.

Reiterating the experiences of the former Minister of Education, who is now the NDC vice president candidate, Professor Alabi said: “I met Jane when she was vice chancellor and I was also vice chancellor. Knowing the work of a vice chancellor, if you are able to do it, then you are ready. “

Professor Alabi pointed out that the post of university rector is difficult like managing a mini country.

He said: “The rector, in addition to managing the university, is like a mini country. Managing the university, he’s managing organizations like TEWU, he’s managing UTAG, he’s managing students, SRC, he’s managing GRASAG, he’s managing administrators and they all have their specialists, like the way the country is. “

“Other than that, you are running the university itself, it’s not an easy job and she was the president of the Ghana vice-chancellors, all the vice-chancellors, she was the president at one point, and as we all know, she was the first woman. Professor Alabi described Professor Opoku-Agyemang’s UNESCO membership as one of her many achievements that she is proud of.

“You rise from a lecturer, senior lecturer, professor, you compete with your peers, other professors to be selected. In fact, Jane is credited with being a member of highly reputable organizations around the world and one of which I am personally proud is UNESCO.

“Member of the executive board of UNESCO, she is contributing all these experiences with experience as formal vice-rector to undress and crown, she was Minister of Education, and under her leadership, we registered the highest performance in the BECE, WASSCE Results”, said the Professor Alabi.
