JHS Graduate Jailed For Alleged Theft Of ¢ 10 Receives ¢ 2k, A Job And An Apartment In Kasoa

A 16-year-old high school (JHS) graduate who was sentenced to 25 years in prison for allegedly stealing ¢ 10 received ¢ 2,000, a job at a hair salon and an apartment.

Abdallah Mohammed, now 27, said in an exclusive interview with Adom FM who served 11 years and two months in Kumasi Central Prison after being wrongly accused of being a thief.

Some people after watching the video on SVTV Africa gave him ¢ 2,000, Adomonline.com has reported.

Mr. Mohammed has also been given a one bedroom apartment in addition to the opportunity to become a professional hairdresser working in a barbershop.

Meanwhile, Nurudeen Mohammed, father of the JHS graduate, thanked those who donated to help his son’s cause move forward with his life after jail time.

He said the experience has left his son traumatized.

“I was glad they released him. If you don’t have the strength and someone helps you, you should be happy. We never thought he would go to jail, “he said.

Mr. Mohammed also thanked the Ghanaians and all those who contributed but want to remain anonymous for their support.

He said his act of kindness has lifted his spirit to do something great with his life and improve his standard of living.

“I am grateful to be a benefactor of your kindness. God bless you for helping me. Little by little, I’m praying for more than this, ”he said after the donation.
