Coroner Zak Golombeck said he had read about Wisten’s time at Manchester City and an injury that allegedly led him to leave the club last year.

Golombeck said he had been impressed by Jeremy’s love for his family and friends.

Coroner Ian Taylor told the court that Wisten, a student, was pronounced dead at the scene after he was found and that there were no suspicious circumstances.

Golombeck postponed the investigation to a date to be set, likely in the spring of next year.

Raheem Sterling was one of the players who expressed sadness over the death of the teenager, and the England forward offered prayers while responding to the announcement on Twitter.
