James Rodríguez has denied the accusations of mistreatment, arguments or fights with his teammates in the Colombian national team.

This week there were reports of a fight between James and members of Carlos Queiroz’s team following Colombia’s 6-1 loss to Ecuador in qualifying for the World Cup.

Tension was already high within the Colombian national team after their 3-0 home loss to Uruguay last Friday, while the pressure intensified after the big loss to Ecuador.

“I deeply reject any information about mistreatment, aggression or disputes with other players of the [Colombian] national team, “James wrote in a statement.” The results were not what we expected, but the relationship is excellent and respectful.

“There has never been any conflict between the clubhouse members. Those responsible for creating these false stories seek to foster discord and chaos around my name, so I will take legal action when necessary.
