The Guardia di Finanza searched the University for Foreigners of Perugia on September 22, where documentation was seized for analysis.
Since then it has been concluded that Suarez’s Italian B1 level test was a “sham”.
Police believe that the player knew the content of the test in advance and his score had already been determined.
Juventus, as well as Suárez, are involved. The investigators have concluded that the top management of the Italian club had interceded “even at the highest institutional levels” to “accelerate” the process of obtaining Italian citizenship by the player, since, at that time, it was linked to joining the Turin club, rather than Atlético de Madrid. .
At that moment, Suárez knew that he would leave Barcelona. Although Atlético was his first option, Juventus was also an option and to take the step he needed to obtain Italian citizenship.
The investigating judge ordered the implementation of precautionary measures, noting that there is a “risk that the suspects will revert to similar criminal behavior.”
