Inter Milan plan to terminate Kwadwo Asamoah’s contract

According to the Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter Milan is considering terminating Kwadwo Asamoah’s contract.

The Ghanaian midfielder and left-back has struggled to gain playing time in recent months, starting just seven games for Inter last season.

Asamoah and Antonio Conte have enjoyed a fruitful relationship in the past with the couple working together prominently at Juventus. Furthermore, it was Conte who reassigned Asamoah as a winger, a role the Ghanaian has revered.

Unfortunately, the duo’s relationship has turned bleak and Conte lost trust in the 31-year-old. As a result, Asamoah was eliminated from Inter’s 41-man squad for the knockout round of the Europa League.

Perhaps, that was the final straw and with Conte going strong on paper with the additions of Kolarov, Hakimi and Ashley Young, Asamoah seems to have no place in Nerazzurri’s squad.

With one year remaining on Asamoah’s contract with Inter, the club was willing to sell Asamoah for the right price. However, with no suitors currently, the Italian club is considering terminating the left-back’s contract.

The former Juventus player joined Inter on a free transfer in the summer of 2018.
