Liverpool feels “insulted” because many believe that its fans would not respect public health guidelines on any return from the Premier League.
And the club says they can deliver games behind closed doors at Anfield without a huge crowd.
In light of the clubs asking the government to think again about playing matches in neutral venues, the focus has been heavily on the elected champions.
Thousands of fans are feared to gather if they have a game in their own stadium where a first title in 30 years is confirmed.
Privately, the Reds have tested those who use Anfield as an example of potential crowd problems, and instead have offered a variety of strategies to ensure there are no problems.

But the club responded strongly to his suggestion.

Liverpool will wait to see the outcome of discussions between the Premier League and the government over a restart, but privately they are convinced that it will be possible to organize games in Anfield without incident.
