An independent candidate running in the parliamentary elections in Ayawaso West Wuogon, Richard Amegatse, has accused two of his opponents of trying to influence the choice of voters with money.

The two are the area’s incumbent deputy, Madame Lydia Seyram Alhassan, and John Dumelo, who is running on the Democratic National Congress ballot.

Richard Amegatse has claimed to witness these acts and has said that he has personally seen the two candidates attempt to woo voters with money.

“This is common knowledge. Even in my presence, I have seen the NPP and NDC candidates distribute money to the people and all of that is a form of corruption. It is not correct to give money to induce people to go in a particular direction and the PNP and the NDC candidates are doing this to induce people and that is bribery and corruption ”.

Despite these accusations, Richard Amegatse is confident of winning the parliamentary seat of Ayawaso West Wuogon after the December 7 general election.

“I hope that the people of Ayawaso West do not elect a corrupt leadership that has no respect for rules and regulations, but rather choose a trustworthy and decent candidate and I hope that the decision they are going to make tomorrow will depend solely on that. If that is the case, then surely Richard Amegatse will emerge victorious, ”he said.
