President Akufo-Addo announced an extension of the incentive package for frontline healthcare workers in the country until the end of the year.
He said this is part of the government’s commitment to ensure that healthcare workers receive the necessary support while contributing their quota to mitigate the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as save lives.
“This means that all healthcare workers will not pay income taxes during the months of October, November and December,” he said.

In his 19th speech on measures taken against the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, President Akufo-Addo announced an extension of the package until December.
“Again, all frontline health workers, as defined by the Ministry of Health, will continue to receive the additional allocation of 50% of their basic salary per month, for the months of October, November and December,” he said.
He added that the provision of adequate medicines, equipment and personal protective equipment has also been guaranteed so that health workers can attend to home patients.
It also expressed its concern about the recent increase in active cases in the country, [from 398 during his last address to 1,139 as of Friday, November 6th.]
The president said the government is doing everything it can to keep the virus under control.
