Iker Casillas has provided a terrifying insight into the details of the heart attack that affected him in May 2019.
Later, in Porto, Casillas suffered a heart attack during a training session and was rushed to hospital, where he remained for five days.
Although he returned to training camp two months later, the ordeal caused the goalkeeper legend to retire and he hung up his gloves in August this year.
Casillas, 39, candidly recalled his harrowing experience in a new documentary Catching the wings – a six-episode series tracing his brilliant career with Real Madrid, Porto and Spain.
“There is a feeling of half a second, or not even that, when you take a deep breath and it tastes different,” Casillas said. Brand .
“I noticed that I was heavy and short of breath, and I began to think that it could be an allergy. Then when I went to the goalkeeping coach, I felt my chest start to tighten and I noticed that I was running out of air.” .

“I said, ‘Roberto, give me sugar or something because I feel bad and I don’t know what’s wrong with me.’ I lay down on the floor and saw that something serious was happening to me.
