Police Inspector General James Oppong-Boanuh has warned that the Ghana Police Service will use the law to deal with any person or group who creates trouble during the election period.
He was in Koforidua to assess the operational readiness of the police in the Eastern Region.
A simulation exercise was conducted on the esplanade of the Eastern Region Police Command to test the readiness and effectiveness of personnel for the December elections.
The Eastern Region police showed their preparation in various fields.
Ammunition, vehicles, among others, were exhibited on standby, to respond to electoral violence.
Police are prepared to deal with identified trouble spots using different surveillance methods, the IGP said.
The IGP was emphatic that the law will catch up with those guilty of electoral violence and warned its men not to be partisan or prejudiced in the performance of their duties.
He called on the heads of the Region to urge young people not to be used as agents of violence.
