The national chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, is calling on supporters and supporters of the party to treat with contempt reports that he is preparing to challenge the party’s standard-bearer in 2024.
In a statement issued on January 17, 2021, the president of the NDC stated that these reports are effusions initiated by the president’s ‘rebellious’ cousin, Gabby Otchere-Darko, which should be ignored because “there is nothing truth in them” .
He maintained that “at this time, together with the party leadership, I am fully focused on giving my fullest support to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama in the presidential election petition that is being litigated in the Supreme Court. It is extremely important that you spare no effort in doing whatever is necessary to process the petition to its logical conclusion. ”
Ampofo further clarifies that he does not intend to challenge the former president and standard-bearer of the party for the position of standard-bearer at any time.
He urged party supporters and supporters to join the party in exposing the ‘fraud’ that characterized the 2020 presidential election.
“The times we are in demand that we use all our energies to ensure that the fraud that characterized the last presidential election is exposed and God willing, voters are given the opportunity once again to choose the right and right person. to direct the affairs of our beloved country, Ghana, ”he emphasized.
