The Institute for Democratic Governance has demonstrated its commitment to peace and stability over the years.
In the run-up to Ghana’s eighth general election, the Institute conducted a broad campaign called I Speak for Peace. This culminated in the signing of a Peace Pact by the two main candidates, days before the polls.
With the aim of promoting democracy, the Institute has once again launched a campaign to promote peace before the Supreme Court’s verdict on the electoral petition.
IDEG, in collaboration with the Civic Forum Initiative (CFI), delivered a speech to the press, calling on Ghanaians to keep the peace and urging the police to enforce law and order in a way that respects rights humans.
Speaking with a representative from IDEG, the drafting table ensured the Institute’s commitment to democratic stability. “We would dedicate our social media platforms @IDEGGHANA to the message of keeping the peace before, during and after the verdict, in the hope that our wake-up call will be heard,” said Dorsina Dwamena-Aboagye.
