Dr. Mensa Otabil, general supervisor of the Central International Church of the Gospel (ICGC), says that the Church’s 2020 Crossover Service, scheduled for December 31, will be held virtually.

“Due to the situation we are in, the crossover will be virtually virtual; that means that the largest number of people will see us online and on television, but we will also have it in person, we know that some of you will still want to come in person, and we will make room for that, “he said in his homily on Sunday at the Christ Temple Auditorium, Abossey Okai, Accra.

“As you know, there will be a very limited capacity both in the auditorium and in the surrounding spaces,” he said.

He noted that the virtual crossing service would take place at the ICGC Christ Temple in Accra.

He expressed the hope that next year they would be able to return to the Plaza de la Independencia, where they usually had their crusader services.

“The theme of the Church for 2021 is fruitfulness,” said Dr. Otabil, declaring that: “We are going to be fruitful on earth. The Lord will make us fruitful. The Lord will make us prosper. And the Lord will make us abound in all good things. “

Speaking on the theme: “How to Build in 2021,” he challenged his parishioners to set goals, have a vision for the year ahead, and do something great and purposeful with their lives.

Quoting from the Bible, he said: “Who of you, who intends to build a tower, does not first sit down and calculate the cost, if he has enough to finish it? Lest, after he has laid the foundations and cannot finish it, everyone who looks at him will start making fun of him. “

He said that Jesus told that parable to describe what was required of his disciples; stating that the main message of the parable was “full commitment.”

Dr. Otabil said it was important to plan because only in the midst of the turmoil did the plan become very effective.

“It is almost like a sea pilot, when piloting a ship… ..and there are storms, there are waves, the ship’s pilot will say that I am not going to pilot this ship again. It’s because of the turbulence you need to steer the boat, ”he said.

He mentioned four essential steps to achieving one’s plan or vision in life.

First, you must decide what you want to do; “This is where we all start. You start with a decision. Start with what you have. Start with what you want. You start with how you want things to end with you, ”he said.

The second is to make sure things happen as they should and to be intentional in the decisions we make in life.

Third, you must calculate the cost of executing the plan and mobilizing resources to achieve that goal and the
The fourth step is to build to the end, adding; “Work and keep working.”

“We must continue to work in all aspects of life, even when things are going well… when things get difficult, when people encourage us, when people discourage us, when we feel up; and keep working when we feel so down. “

Dr. Otabil said that if you want to be fruitful and build that tower, you have to keep working on it.

“You have to stay the course until the vision becomes reality,” he added.
