Kwadaso Member of Parliament Elect (MP) Dr. Kingsley Nyarko has vowed to break the label of “one-term MP” that has been hanging around the neck of the constituency.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency after his victory in the December 2007 elections, he said that the overwhelming support for him was a clear demonstration of the will of the people to work closely with him to improve conditions of life in the area.
Dr. Nyarko, who is the Executive Secretary of the National Accreditation Board, registered a total of 61,772 of the 70,944 valid votes cast.
The Kwadaso constituency, which was created in 2004, has been known for giving its MPs a mandate.
Ms. Josephine Hilda Addoh, the first elected MP, was in office from 2004-2008.
She was followed by Dr. Afriyie Owusu Akoto, who served two terms and was expelled in 2016, by Dr. Samuel Kwadwo Nuamah, who also lost his job in 2020.
Dr Nyarko, who was elated by his election, told the Ghana News Agency that he would work to engage all stakeholders to promote development and expressed his gratitude to voters for voting him to represent them in parliament and also retain to the president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo. -Addo as president.
He said the massive votes received challenged him to work hard to justify the trust that people had put on his shoulders.
“Since the constituency was created, only Dr. Akoto was able to represent the constituency in Parliament for eight years, but in my time as a deputy I will work very hard to go beyond those years,” he added.
He called on the people of Kwadaso to come together as one people, regardless of their political parties, to support him in the development of the constituency.
