I will act in the interest of all Ghanaians – Prez Akufo-Addo
President-elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has assured that he will continue to work in the interest of all Ghanaians in his second term as President of Ghana.
Addressing the National Thanksgiving Service of the New Patriotic Party (PNP) on Sunday December 27 in Accra, the president said that he will continue to work in his interest not only of the more than 6.7 million Ghanaians who voted for him, but also of the more than 6.2 million Ghanaians who did not vote for him in the presidential elections on December 7.
“I want to thank the people of Ghana for maintaining their confidence in our nation’s leadership, especially the more than 6.7 million people who voted for me. But, by pointing them out, I also want to assure the 6.2 million that I do not They voted for me, I will have their interest in my heart and in my mind in everything I do, “said the president to the cheers of thousands of executives and supporters of the PNP who gathered at the entrance of the House of Representatives.
I will protect Ghana’s democracy
President Akufo-Addo also declared that he will do everything in his power as president to safeguard Ghana’s democracy.
He charged all Ghanaians, regardless of political affiliation, to work together to ensure the progress of the nation.
“We must take the initiative to realize the main lesson of this election, which is that all people of good will, regardless of political affiliation, must work together to ensure the peace, prosperity and progress of our nation.
“Ghana continues to be a model of democracy and good governance on our continent and around the world and it is our responsibility to uphold this position … For my part, I will do all I can and spare no effort to ensure that the institutions of our republic and our democratic commitment remain unaltered and continue in full force and effect for the well-being and benefit of the people of Ghana. “
