‘I was not the aggressor’ – Charles Bissue explains fight with MP

[ad_1]

Presidential staff member Charles Cromwell Bissue has described the accounts of the alleged fight that took place between him and the Tarkwa-Nuem MP on Monday as grossly misrepresented.

“In response to the outrageously false allegations printed in today’s (Wednesday) edition of The Daily Dispatch newspaper titled ‘NPP Regional Secretary bites NPP MP, bloodflows’ and the Daily Guide newspaper titled ‘NPP Gurus Trade Blows’, as well as previous news Articles from other online portals that started on Monday, September 21, 2020, I write to discredit those news articles, ”reads in part a statement issued by Mr. Bissue.

His comment follows several media reports detailing the circumstances that led to the physical exchange between the two PNP politicians during a workshop for executives from the western region and parliamentary candidates in Takoradi.

Previously, images of Mr. Bissue with a puffy face and almost closed eyes made it onto the internet, prompting many to wonder what the reason was behind the fight with George Mireku Duker.

But in his statement, Bissue said that he is turning to the PNP structures to resolve the matter amicably. According to him, he was not the aggressor in the situation, as it is not in his nature.

According to the western regional secretary of the PNP, although he would have preferred to publicize his version of events, he is also aware of the fact that the PNP has an election to “prosecute.”

“I am guided, as always, not by my own interest, but by higher ideals and loyalties, and a firm belief that justice serves those who serve others, and that truth and honesty always prevail.”

The reporting is a serious misrepresentation of what happened at the Party meeting on Monday, I wish to assure everyone that I neither physically attacked nor bit the finger of the deputy for the Tarkwa-Nsuaem constituency, Hon. Mireku Duker as widely reported. I was not the aggressor in this situation, as it is not in my nature, as anyone who knows me can attest.

I am hereby assuring each and everyone that, rather, I will turn to the PNP structures to resolve this matter amicably. As much as I would like to publicize my version of the unfortunate incident, I am guided by the fact that the PNP has an election to prosecute and anything that distracts from the narration of the incomparable achievements of this government will be a great disservice to the country. . and the Party that I have served faithfully. I am guided, as always, not by my own interest, but by higher ideals and loyalties, and a firm conviction that justice serves those who serve others, and that truth and honesty always prevail.

The PNP Constitution, Article 3, Sections 5A, 1-5 (Duties of a member) stipulates that:

In accordance with the declared articles of the PNP Constitution, I will allow the party structures to handle the matter accordingly and will continue to focus on my work for our party and for our great country, undeterred and with conviction.

In deference to the eminent persons who constitute the Complaints and Discipline Committee, I will not issue any additional statements and I trust the Party’s unwavering determination to act promptly and fairly with all parties involved.
