Ghanaian actress Christiana Awuni has revealed the culture of favoritism and protocols that is growing in the country’s vaccination centers.
In an interview on UTV’s United Showbiz, the actress recounted how she was almost fired at the vaccination center until a friend warned the nurses at the center that she was an actress.
When she arrived at the vaccination center, the actress said she joined the line because she did not want to cause confusion or appear disrespectful to the elderly and women who joined the line.
When it was her turn to get vaccinated, they asked her a series of questions that degenerated into a swing between her and the nurses.
Christiana Awuni said health workers told her the vaccine is for people over 60, a statement she disagreed with. The back and forth continued until the workers were told that she was an actress.
The actress revealed how nurses were using false claims to fire people from receiving the vaccine and the protocol system that was being used at the centers. However, he refused to mention the name of the center to protect the workers.
