The member of parliament elected for the Techiman South constituency in the Bono East region, Martin Agyei Mensah Korsah, has debunked the accusation by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) that the results were not collected and no statement has been made.

According to the Vice Minister of Reorganization and Regional Development, the electoral results of Techiman Sur were collated and the Electoral Commission declared the results in the presence of the NDC team and observers at the collation center in their favor.

“The results were collected, and not only were NDC officers at the collection center; the observers, the NDC candidate Alex Kyeremeh, Agyei Mensah and I were at the collection center. The NDC sat directly across from the EC table in the sorting center.

“A declaration was made, the collation was made and all the observers who were in the collation center have their reports on the electoral results. What the NDC says are pure lies; We have remained silent but we will not allow darkness to prevail over light. These lies from the NDC will not help anyone, “he chided.

He said the NDC candidate came to the collation center with a crowd claiming to be declared the winner when the collation had not started; therefore, security was necessary to stop them.

“We started the collection at almost 8 am the next day after the elections were held while we waited for all the pink NDC sheets to begin the collection. Every step of the way, the NDC tried to find some excuse to stop the collection, but we finally did, ”he hinted.

Speaking in Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, Mr. Martinn Agyei Mensah Korsah challenged the NDC to provide evidence that is contrary to the stated results for the Techiman Sur seat.

He added that the radio comment from the opposition Democratic National Congress (NDC) will not bode well for the nation except to generate political tension at all.

“If you have evidence contrary to the stated results, present it and stop the radio commentary. I wonder what they want to win; they are raising political tension for nothing, ”he challenged the NDC.
