The former secretary general of the ruling New Patriotic Party (PNP), Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, has revealed that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has not yet offered him an appointment.

He has also refuted claims that he turned down the president’s offers to serve in his administration, as some people speculate.

According to him, he has not been nominated or appointed to hold any position in the government, therefore, he has nothing to reject from the President of the Republic.

“I have not refused an appointment. No no … no one has given me an appointment to reject it. It’s never true, ”Kwabena Agyei told Kwame Tanko in an interview on Kumasi-based Angel FM, monitored by MyNewsGh.com.

Kwabena Agyapong was suspended by his party, claiming that he violated article 4 {D} of the NPP Constitution dealing with the duties of a member, according to the leadership of the NPP.

However, after the alleged suspension, Kwabena Agyapong insisted that his party’s action was illegal, but the PNP in response in a statement emphasized that “the National Council wishes to make it clear that the suspension of Kwabena Agyapong was legal and constitutional.”

According to the party, “The procedure of the Disciplinary Committee was fully complied with, as in article 5. One complainant invoked article 7 {v, vi, vii}, which deals with misconduct, and after the Committee National Discipline established by constitutional mandate to carry out exhaustive investigations, said Committee recommended an indefinite suspension in accordance with article {4} of the PNP Constitution. . Article 7 {b} also details the sanctions that attract misconduct, such as Kwabena Agyei Agyapong ”.

Meanwhile, speaking to Angel FM on Monday in Kumasi, the former secretary general praised President Akufo-Addo, placing him well ahead of his opponent John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Kwabena Agyapong categorically stated that President Akufo Addo has made an incomparable development in the country, so the NDC does not have a position in the upcoming elections.
