President Nana Akufo-Addo has appealed to the electorate to place their trust in him, once again, and vote en masse for him in the December elections.
“Everything that I promised to do, in his presence and the presence of God, everyone can attest that I have done many of them,” he said.
The president addressed the Resurrection Power New Generation Church congregation on Kasoa Sunday at the beginning of his four-day tour of the Greater Accra region.
“You have all seen that I am an honest and truthful person. I did not come to fool anyone in Ghana. I told the Ghanaians the truth, today I tell them the same truth, and that is why I ask you to help me so that ‘Four more for Nana’ becomes a reality, “he said.
Four more years for him, he added, “he should also run for the parliamentary candidates who go to Parliament to win.”
Explaining the purpose of his visit, the president noted that so far he has visited all regions of the country except Greater Accra, and considered it important to begin his tour of Greater Accra with a visit to the Church that he knows very well.
“Four years ago, I came here to implore the Reverend Anthony Kwadwo Boakye to pray to Almighty God, on my behalf, for victory in the 2016 election. He prayed for me, God heard his prayers and I was victorious.
Afterwards, I came here to show my gratitude to him and the church for the good they did for me, ”he said, to an enthusiastic response from the congregation.
The president told the Church meeting that “I am here today, once again, that December 7 will soon arrive. The country is going to elect someone to lead the nation for the next four years.
I pray to God that, as he helped me in 2016, he will help me again in this election of 2020 ”.
President Akufo-Addo reiterated at the meeting that “what we have achieved, in the areas of education, health, employment, agriculture and all others, represents a solid foundation that we have established in Ghana for the growth and development of the country.
“So I plead with you that we must move forward and not back down so that together we can move Ghana forward.”
President Akufo-Addo also inspected work in progress on the construction of the Weija Model Upper Secondary School, a school whose grass he cut in October 2019.
Weija SHS is one of the new upper secondary schools, comprising the construction of seven new upper secondary schools and the improvement of two existing schools into model schools, which is being established by the Akufo-Addo administration.
The seven new schools are located in Kwadaso, Dabaa, Awaso, Abomosu, Akrodie, Weija and Kpasenkpe.
Seven of the nine schools are proposed science-focused schools, and the other two are the first School of Creative Arts, Kwadaso, in Kumasi, and a Technical Higher School in Dabaa, named after former President JA Kufour.
It will be recalled that the contracts for the construction of these schools were awarded in October 2019, and the lands were handed over to the contractors by the consultants a month later.
The Weija Model Upper Secondary School is equipped with the full complement of amenities such as playing fields, administration buildings, libraries and dormitories.
Additionally, the V-Block at the school has a total of 24 classrooms, as opposed to the 12 classrooms in the E-Blocks built by the previous administration.
