The presidential candidate of the Democratic National Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has said his party has what it takes to clean up the mess and rot created by the Akufo-Addo government.

Addressing a group of chiefs and people from Adjei Kojo in the West Theme constituency on Thursday, as part of his five-day campaign tour of the Greater Accra region, Mahama said the NDC is well aware of the disaster that He has created the Akufo-Addo government since he took office in January 2017.

He was surprised at how the Akufo-Addo government ended up creating his mess, given that he inherited a strong economy from him.

“In 2016, I approved the ESLA, which is the Energy Sector Tax Law, and that Law alone, in 2017, generated GHS3 billion. And who inherited that money? President Akufo-Addo inherited that money.

“I established the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund and put in a seed capital of $ 270 million and left it to President Akufo-Addo. where is that money?

“When COVID happened, but for the Stabilization Fund that was created in my time, the 1.2 billion they had taken from the COVID fund to provide food to people, to provide PPE to people and stimulus packages for people, if not If we had created that Fund, we would not have gotten those 1,200 million ”, he said.

Mahama said his government also left more than $ 300 million in the Sinking Fund, adding that these are all verifiable.

“How much is he going to leave President Mahama in 2021?” He asked.
