Andrew Amoako Asiamah, the former Member of Parliament for the Fomena constituency, has said that he is not reflecting on the decision of the Speaker of Parliament to withdraw from the chamber.

He told Citi FM that he is not concerned about the decision and has focused his attention on securing re-election in the December 7 election.

Andrew Amoako Asiamah has been advised by several people, including Bawku’s central deputy, Mahama Ayariga, to seek redress in court for his dismissal.

Ayariga believes that the MP was treated unfairly and must seek justice in the courts.

“I think the MP should file an application in court and seek an interim injunction to prevent the Speaker from preventing him from attending the sessions. Parliament will no longer meet for a couple of weeks, so not much will be missed. If you show up tomorrow and get the court to talk about the matter quickly, you will be allowed to sit down, until the Supreme Court declares its final verdict. The Supreme Court is the last call when it comes to interpreting the Constitution, ”he explained.

But Amoako Asiamah says his main concern is to win Fomena’s seat, after which he will consider the options available to him.

“The decision to remove me from parliament does not bother me,” he is reported to have said on Citi FM.

“For now, I am concentrating on the campaign. Let me cross this obstacle. After crossing this obstacle, we will see what to do. I don’t want to be distracted. My goal is to do the campaign. Once this is done, we will see what we will do. I’ll consider it along with other brains. “

Andrew Amoako Asiamah was removed from parliament on Saturday following a petition from the New Patriotic Party to the House on his decision to run in the upcoming elections as an independent candidate.

There were attempts by the PNP to have him reconsider his decision, but Amoako Asiamah is adamant that contesting the elections as an independent is the best for him.
