The Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah, leader of the Glorious Word Power Ministry, has expressed disappointment with Democratic National Congress standard bearer John Dramani Mahama for his promise to institutionalize the commercial bicycle service, popularly known as Okada.

Legalizing Okada is one of the NDC’s key promises they hope to implement if Ghanaians vote for them on December 7.

The party’s standard-bearer, John Mahama, claims that the Okada business has provided more jobs to the Ghanaian than some of the Akufo-Addo administration’s interventions.

Mahama’s determination to make it operational stems from what he believes is an attempt to solve the problem of youth unemployment.

“Why behave like a turkey and bury your head in the sand? These ‘pragyas’, Aboboyaa, okadas have created more jobs in this economy than any government employment-related policy. It has created more jobs than NaBCo, YEA and all those artificial job creation programs. “

Speaking on Accra-based Okay FM, Owusu Bempah said he is surprised that the best solution Mahama could offer to youth unemployment is to legalize okada.

He reiterated the well-known notions that the accident rate among cyclists in Okada is very high.

“I am disappointed in Mahama for promising to legalize Okada. We are all in this and see how they work. They do not obey the traffic rules. Their accident rate is very high and they do not survive. One happened in front of our church and the victim crashed. They must carry their things well because the way they walk is dangerous ”.

Owusu Bempah added that a defeat has already been recorded for Mahama in the spiritual realm and not even the promise of okada could save him and the NDC.

“Okada is scary. I do not agree with John Mahama about Okada. If you want to be president, promise things that will make people’s lives better. Mahama can never be president again, so this Okada thing won’t even happen. I speak as a servant of God and that is what they have told me, ”he said.
