Sudan is looking to avenge its African Cup of Nations qualifying loss to Ghana the last time they met on Tuesday afternoon (1pm start).
Charles Akonnor’s men were too good at home when they ran out of comfortable winners and were grateful to patron André Ayew, who took a brace.
Ghana currently leads Group C with nine points, three ahead of South Africa, but Sudan knows a win could see them in the mix for qualification.
The Jediane Falcons have so far achieved a win in three games played (4-0 against São Tomé and Príncipe) and know that a win could bring them closer to three of the four-time champions.

- Sudan (vs Ghana): Abu-Eshrein; Merghani, Suliman, Elnour, Abdalla; Nasr Omar, Abuaagla, Al-Rasheed; Ramadan Agab, Abdelrahman, Al-Tash.
- Ghana (vs Sudan): Ofori; Nettey, Boye, Djiku, Baba; Lomotey, Acquah; Owusu, A. Ayew, Fosu, J. Ayew.
Hubert Velud is expected to make little, if any, changes from the team that fell to a 2-0 loss to Ghana earlier in the week. Atahir Eltahir, who arrived just after the hour mark, is someone who is pushing to start.
Ghana boss Charles Akonnor, who has a fully available squad to choose from, could retain the eleven players who started at Cape Coast, although center forward Caleb Ekuban is looking for a starting place.
Players to watch:
- Sudan: Velud’s men currently sit at a humble 128th in the current FIFA world rankings and will certainly be in command against Ghana’s irresistible attack, so expect their defense and center-back 52 times. Amir Kamal | be working overtime. The 28-year-old, who currently practices his trade for Al-Merrikh, played the full 90 minutes last time, but couldn’t keep André Ayew and company quiet, but this is another chance to make amends.
- Ghana: Speaking of Andre Ayew, enters this game looking to further establish himself as the most prolific scorer on Akonnor’s current squad. He currently has 19 goals for Ghana, two more than his younger brother Jordan has produced. However, the Ghana captain has made 27 more matches than the Crystal Palace striker. Older brother Ayew scored twice against Sudan last time, which turned out to be his first qualifying goal for AFCON since June 2016, when he scored against Mauricio.
