How Police Guns Were Recovered From ‘West Togolanders’ [VIDEO]

A video has emerged of how the police recovered weapons stolen by some alleged activists from the West Togo secession in a recent attack.

The weapons were stolen by men believed to be members of the Western Togolese secession group during an attack on the Aveyime and Mepe police stations in the North Tongu district of the Volta region.

The armed men, simultaneously, seized both police stations, dominated the policemen and stole the weapons that were in the armory.

The Ghana Police Service, giving an update on the matter, indicated that the stolen weapons were recovered on Friday, September 25, 2020.

“Vehicles, weapons and other objects seized or stolen by the ‘elements’ on Friday, September 25, 2020 have also been recovered.”

The Police reiterated that they were in control of the situation and that life had returned to normal in the affected regions.

“The security agencies wish to reiterate that there is adequate security on the ground in the affected areas in the Volta, Oti and Oriental regions and in all other parts of the country. Life has returned to normal as residents carry out their daily activities without fear of insecurity, ”reads part of the statement.

They also indicated that thirty-one people in connection with the riots have been arrested and provisionally charged and brought before the court for assignment.

“The general public is assured that they will remain calm as law enforcement agencies will continue to count on their help to arrest all perpetrators and confront the law,” the statement added.
