How Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Don Jazzy, Simi, and Others Reacted to President Buhari’s Speech

Nigerian President Buhari addressed Nigerian citizens on Thursday, October 22, 2020, two days after the killing of protesters at Lekki Toll Gate by Nigerian soldiers.

The president, faced with much pressure from Nigerians, finally addressed the citizens in a 12-minute video. The president acknowledged the frustrations of angry young people protesting and also affirmed that it is a fundamental right of citizens to protest against police brutality.

Buhari also revealed the plans the administration has put in place for Nigerian youth and women, but declined to speak about the shooting of protesters that occurred at Lekki Toll Gate. After his speech, many Nigerians took to his social media page to express their disappointment at his speech.
