President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has warned Ghanaians to be wary of former President John Dramani Mahama’s promise to create one million jobs when he is reelected.

He opined that this promise cannot be trusted by the former president seeking reelection because he was once in government and yet did not fulfill these same promises.

He asked Mr. Mahama to respect the Ghanaians and stop making these promises which, according to him, are contradictory.

The standard bearer of the opposition Democratic National Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama, says that one million jobs will be created for young people over four years by the next NDC government starting in 2021.

Mr. Mahama, speaking in Battor, North Tongu constituency, on the first day of his four-day visit to the Volta region, told a multi-stakeholder meeting that the most important thing people needed now was Job positions.

Furthermore, he claimed that the NDC, a new NDC government, would invest in vocational and technical education and training (TVET) and make it free.

A few days ago, Mr. Mahama also assured Wa Chiefs and People that he will provide seed capital to the new Upper West Regional hospital to enable the facility to operate effectively and improve the quality of healthcare if it wins the election. 2020.

Speaking on the Wa Naa Palace esplanade as part of his four-day campaign tour of the Upper West Region, Mr. Mahama indicated that he will upgrade the abandoned Wa Municipal Hospital and build polyclinics in advantageous communities to help reduce the congestion in the facilities.

“I will provide 250,000 jobs to young people ranging from agribusiness, forestry, construction and artisans among others,” he said.

But the president in his response said that it sounds strange that the former president makes such promises when he was unable to do the same when he was in office for almost years.

He wondered why the candidate would promise 250,000 jobs for one region alone when he had already promised the entire nation one million jobs.

The president made the comments when speaking to Oman FM in an interview about his track record and accomplishments.
