The Okyenhene, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin, says that President Akufo-Addo will end his job as the country’s leader in 2024, apparently backing the president before the December elections.
The okyenhene, while speaking on behalf of the Eastern Region House of Chiefs during the president’s campaign tour of the area, praised the PNP standard-bearer for his handling of the COVID crisis in Ghana.
“The whole world is praising Akufo-Addo for the good job he did to contain COVID in Ghana, when even more resourceful countries are still fighting the virus. So when your work comes to an end; and his work does not end now, even if it will end around 2024, he should build a presidential library that teaches people how he handled the COVID virus in Ghana, ”Okyenhene said.
On Monday, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, assured the president that his record in office “will speak for him” in the 2020 elections.
“Your good works in office will speak for you going into the election. We at Asanteman remember, we don’t forget. Asanteman will therefore remember his good deeds on Election Day. All I can offer you are prayers and blessings. “
Although traditional chiefs and rulers should not participate in partisan politics, the Asante noted that “we vote. We will vote based on the good deeds of the candidate. “
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, therefore, urged President Akufo-Addo to instruct his communicators and the dissemination mechanism to “tell Ghanaians exactly what their government has done and what is being done” in their respective communities, in the period prior to the December elections. .
