Fameye, legally known as Peter Famiyeh Bozah, made this confession during an interview on Abeiku Santana’s “Atuu” program that aired this week.

According to the winner of the 2020 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards for “Best New Artist of the Year”, he was a committed parishioner, however when he decided to go to the dread and had his ears pierced, some of his church members criticized him.

He said he came to stop the church altogether because he did not like how church members handled criticism.

“I stopped going to church” he told Abeiku Santana. “I used to be a committed parishioner, but after changing my hairstyle to locks and getting my ears pierced, some old women in my church criticized me.”

Fameye, 25, further revealed that she believes Christianity lives in the heart, so she did not see why she should join a congregation. However, he claimed that he attends prayer sessions from time to time.

“So, I thought that Christianity is in the heart. So, I stopped going to church. From time to time, I attend prayer sessions, but I no longer commit to regular services. “ He concluded.

Fameye was awarded “Best New Artist of the Year” at the recently concluded Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. He beat stiff competition from J.Derobie, Lord Paper, Kofi Mole, Tulenkey, and MOG Music to win the enviable award.
