Kwame Opare Addo, Head of Communications for Hearts of Oak, applauded the National Sports Authority [NSA] for his decision to reverse the new charges for using the Accra Sports Stadium before the 2020/21 football season.
A statement released by the NSA on Tuesday drew much criticism for stating that Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko will pay Ghanaian Cedi 20,000 per match played at Accra Sports Stadium.
However, 24 hours later, the NSA said they would drop the charges after consulting with the Sports Ministry and affected clubs.
“This is good news for the development of football in Ghana.” Opare Addo said CitiSports.
“The 25% capacity limit will present a great challenge for clubs. And even if we were allowed to take advantage of the maximum capacity in the stadium, how much money are the clubs going to make?
“But if we can get 25% in the stadium, we should get good money to support the operation of the club.”
The Ghana Premier League is expected to start on November 13.
