Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak met Premier League rivals Ebusua Dwarfs in a preseason friendly on Sunday as both teams prepare for the upcoming campaign.
The Phobians opened the scoring when striker Abednego Tetteh converted from the point in the opening minutes of the game, but the dwarves achieved parity later in the half through Ishmael Antwi.
Hearts, who is on Cape Coast for preseason camping, paraded two teams for the game, and the first set looked like coach Edward Odoom’s trusted team to start games in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League.
The team consisted of number one goalkeeper Richard Attah, Larry Sumaila Benjamin Afutu, Emmanuel Nettey, striker Abednego Tetteh and young Kwadwo Obeng Jnr.
Ghana’s 20-time Premier League champions are shaping up well for the new season after signing several players, including expats Ademola Kuti and Lawali Mamane.
Patrick Razak, who is returning to the team after a brief stint in Guinea, appeared in the second team with players like captain Fatau Mohammed and Raddy Ovouka.
The Hearts haven’t won the domestic league since 2008 and hope to end that streak next season.
They will then play Elmina Sharks and Medeama as the new season approaches.
