Interim results received from Nalerigu-Gambaga constituency, Hajia Alima Mahama have been removed from parliament.

The member of parliament (MP) for the Nalerigu-Gambaga constituency in the northeast region is behind the parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the area, Alhaji Baba Issifu Seidu, with 5,000 votes.

According to sources in the New Patriotic Party, it is unlikely that he will be able to reverse the margin with the few polling stations that remain to be checked, even if all the people in those areas vote in his favor.

This is the second time he has lost the seat to the NDC after a similar one in 2008.

Meanwhile, the NPP has won the seats of Chereponi, Yagaba-Kubore and Yunyoo, all in the Northeast Region.

Announcing this at a press conference today, Mr. John Boadu, who is the Secretary General of the PNP, said: “In the Northeast region, the NDC also failed, losing Yagaba Kubori to Mustapha Ussif, the NDC failed in Yunyoo, The seat for Oscar Lawal of the NPP, and the NDC also failed in Chereponi, losing the seat to Abdul Razak of the NPP ”.
