Gregory Afoko’s family, The man charged in 2015 with the murder of Alhaji Adams Mahama, the then Upper East Regional President of the New Patriotic Party (PNP), says he is alive and well.

“The Royal Ayieta family of Sandema wishes to inform everyone that the news about the disappearance of Gregory Afoko is false. Greg is in some kind of good health and in the last week he even tested negative for Covid-19 ”, a statement issued on Saturday afternoon (November 21, 2020) by Robert Atong Asekabta, spokesman for the Ayieta family in Sandema.

“This false bad news has no credibility. The hidden hands behind him are doing it to achieve some evil result, ”he added.

“The family will hold the authorities individually and collectively responsible if something happens to Greg.”

The statement said Afoko has been illegally in the custody of BNI in solitary confinement for more than a year.

Court case

Afoko and her alleged accomplice, Asabke Alangdi, are being tried in Accra High Court on two counts of conspiracy to commit murder and murder.

They have denied wrongdoing and have pleaded not guilty to all charges.

At the trial last Monday (November 9, 2020), Afoko was absent.

The prosecutor revealed that he had been hospitalized the day before.
