Hearts of Oak ended Bechem United’s unbeaten streak after an impressive 6-1 win at Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.

The Phobians gained a huge lead just minutes from the end of the first half after Bechem United’s Emmanuel Asante received his second yellow card for dissent.

In the second half, Hearts took advantage of the extra man to score the first goal in the 53rd minute. Abdul Manaf was right when the opportunity presented itself.

The hosts doubled their lead in the 68th minute thanks to Victor Aidoo. Aidoo simulated his score and put the ball into the net.

Five minutes later, Aidoo got back on the scoreboard to make it 3-0.

The goals did not end there. Hearts received a penalty that was expertly executed by Frederick Ansah Botchway in the 84th minute.

Prince Kwabena Adu cut the deficit in the 86th minute, but Lawali Mamane made it 5-1 just two minutes later.

Substitute Benjamin Afutu scored the final goal of the match in the 90th minute.

Since Kosta Papic replaced Edward Nii Odoom at Hearts, the team has accumulated ten points out of a possible 15.

They have recorded three wins in their last four games, which has helped the team to second place on the record with 11 points.

For Bechem, they will be disappointed with the result after being six games unbeaten in the competition.

But, the Hunters will momentarily hold the top spot with 14 points. Hearts will hope to get more wins in later games.
