President Akufo-Addo has assured the chiefs of the Ga Traditional area that they will establish a committee to study compulsory land acquisition.
The president, while addressing the Greater Accra Region Chamber of Heads on Thursday, as part of his tour of the Region, said the committee will be established in early 2021.

When addressing the Chamber, President Akufo-Addo stated that “the Committee will make the appropriate recommendations for the Government’s decision. A few weeks before the elections, the creation of this Committee this year may not be feasible ”.
However, as a sign of his commitment to this, the President instructed the Minister of Headquarters and Religious Affairs “to initiate stakeholder consultations with the House, so that an agreement can be reached on the composition of this Committee and its Terms of Reference. Reference”.
He assured the Chamber that his Government will continue to support the institution of Headquarters to be strong and resilient, and indicated that six new office and bungalow complexes would be provided for the six newly established Regional Houses of Chiefs.
“In addition, as I have already said, we would endeavor to provide the institution with the necessary support to resolve chiefdom issues and carry out investigations in the many areas of relevance to curb conflicts related to chiefdom,” he emphasized.
Five (5) weeks after the December 7 elections, President Akufo-Addo assured the Chamber of the unconditional efforts being made by the Government to guarantee peace and stability in the nation.

Development projects
As part of the Government’s Agenda 111, which seeks to build District Hospitals in Districts without hospitals, the President told the House that, over the next twelve (12) months, the Government will build District Hospitals in districts without hospitals. them in the Greater Accra Region.

Reporting on the work carried out by the Government in the Greater Accra Region during his tenure, President Akufo-Addo told the Chamber that “there are 847 projects underway in the Region, 423 completed and 424 remaining underway.”
Of the 423 completed projects, 87 correspond to the education sector, 17 to the health sector, 173 to the road sector, 74 to the water and sanitation sector, 25 to the industrial sector and 10 market projects.
Of the 424 ongoing projects, 92 in the education sector, 18 in the health sector, 54 in the road sector, 113 in the water and sanitation sector, 20 in the industrial sector, and 19 market projects.
