It’s been a while since we’ve had a Neymar return to Barcelona rumor to talk about, but fear not, speculation about the Brazilian’s return to Camp Nou is back for another transfer window.

Xavi Hernández from Diario ARA reports that Neymar has stopped the renewal talks with Paris Saint-Germain because he wants to return to Barcelona. The Brazilian believes that Messi remains at the Camp Nou and wants to return and play with the Argentine again.

Apparently, the 29-year-old has already informed Barça of his wishes and how he is willing to make financial sacrifices to ensure the transfer given the Catalans’ debts.

Neymar made it clear in late 2020 that he wants to play with Messi again at some point in his career, although it was widely assumed at the time that he was more likely to be at PSG than Barcelona.

“What I want most is to play with Messi again, to be able to enjoy being on the pitch with him again,” he said.

“He could play in my place. You won’t have any problems, I’m sure. I want to play with him again and I am sure that next season we have to ”.

Messi tried to leave Barcelona last summer but now it seems possible that he will stay after the departure of Josep Maria Bartomeu as president and with Joan Laporta installed.

Barça have been linked to a host of attackers this summer, despite the club’s huge debts, with players like Erling Haaland, Harry Kane and Lautaro Martínez all linked. It seems that Neymar can now be added to that list.

PSG was expected to announce that Neymar had agreed to a contact extension at the Parc des Princes before the end of the season with reports claiming that he had agreed to a new four-year contract.

Neymar is out of contract in 2022, along with his teammate Kylian Mbappé, which means that PSG have a lot of work to do before the transfer window opens.

The latest rumor about Neymar comes hours after the Brazilian was sent off on Saturday when PSG suffered a 1-0 loss to Lille that leaves him second in Ligue 1, three points behind first place.
