The CEO of Global Cargo and Commodities Limited, Jacob Gbati, has denied media reports linking him and his company Global Cargo and Commodities to the alleged importation of an illegal substance worth $ 10 million that is believed which are drugs.
It should be remembered that a few days ago, the Narcotics Control Commission in collaboration with state security in the Port of Tema intercepted a 100-kilogram package suspected of being illegal drugs.
The substance, allegedly buried inside a 40-foot container loaded with sugar, is believed to have a street value of more than $ 10 million.
The container is said to be part of 50 other containers consigned to a Company called TradePass, whose shipping Global Cargo and Commodities Limited was contracted as Freight Forwarders and Clearing Agents to clear and store from the port of Tema.
Since then, investigations into the alleged importation of the substance have begun.
However, speaking through his attorneys at Blay and Associates, Mr. Gbati denied any ownership or importation of the alleged substance.
In a public notice distributed by its attorneys, Global Cargo and Commodities Limited distanced itself from anything illegal in connection with the transaction.
