Give More Appointments to Ashantis – Volta Group Endorses Kennedy Agyepong | Politics

A group in the Volta region has endorsed calls by the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Hon. Kennedy Agyepong, for the president to consider giving most of the appointments to the Ashanti region in his next administration.

The results of the elections last Monday proved once again that the Ashanti region is the base of the New Patriotic Party, after obtaining a whopping 1,794,000 million votes for the president, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo.

The region alone carried the president on its shoulders, canceling the total of votes obtained by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in eight regions.

Reactions to the results have been largely mixed, with many praising regional leaders for the good work done, despite failing to achieve all 47 parliamentary goals.

The outspoken deputy from Assin Central, Hon. Kennedy Agyepong, in a video that has since gone viral, has suggested to the president that he hand over a large percentage of the appointments to people from the Ashanti region as compensation for the massive support shown to the match.

Therefore, his comment has received support from supporters in all 16 regions.

A group based in the Upper East region, Upper East NPP Patriots, has already supported President Wontumi and his team for the impressive result.

The latest to add their voice to the call is a group from the Volta Region, Youth for Action, which has endorsed the call made by the Central Legislator of Assin.

According to them, the only way the ruling PNP consolidates its gains in any future election is to prioritize the Ashanti region.

“Elections are about victory, and therefore we must first prioritize what the result brings us. The Ashanti region has been consistent and therefore deserves most of the national pie.”
