President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo says Ghanaians want a leader who puts the nation on the path of progress and prosperity, and not one who leads the country back to the dark days of ‘dumsor’, economic mismanagement and the economy in a recession.
Speaking at Krobo Odumase on Monday as part of his two-day tour of the Eastern Region, President Akufo-Addo stated that the people of Ghana are tired of the ‘negative propaganda’ in Ghanaian politics, and do not want leaders whose track record in the office it was abysmal.
“Are the political leaders who created an economic mess, with the worst statistics in modern times, telling us today that they are leaders we can trust? Confidence, to do what? To bring our economy back to the dump? Return our economy to recession? For our economy to return to hyperinflation? “
“Is that what we need? Is that the leadership of the country we need? the president asked, to which the massive crowd in Odumase replied “No.”
According to the president, Ghanaians “seek different leadership. We look for leadership that brings progress and prosperity to Ghana, not backwardness and false claims. “
In the meeting at the place of interaction, the president recounted several of the policies implemented by his government in the last four years, including Free SHS, Plantation for Food and Jobs, 1-District-1-Factory, 1-Pueblo- 1 -Dam, among others.
“If the work is satisfactory, if you find that the work has been satisfactory, what I ask of you, Mahya Krobo, is that you give me the opportunity to do my job and give me four more years for Nana,” he added. .
His term in office, reiterated President Akufo-Addo, has also dismantled the propaganda of the Democratic National Congress that the PNP has a negative agenda against Krobos.
“Look what is happening in the Upper Manya Krobo constituency. Look at what is happening here in Lower Manya and the various projects and initiatives that are taking place.
They say I’m an Akyem man, and Akyem people don’t like Krobo people. So if I come to power, I come to harass the people of Krobo, ”he said.
The President continued: “Has any Krobo person been harassed in Akyem Abuakwa or here during my term? It’s all negative propaganda from people who can’t do things and have to invent things in order to engage our minds. We are tired of the negative propaganda in Ghanaian politics. “
