Ghana vs Mali: Match Venue Profile, Emir Sports Complex in Antalya, Turkey

Black Stars will face Mali on Friday, October 9 in Antalya, Turkey, in an International friendly.

The Stars have not played a competitive game since November 2019, when they defeated South Africa and São Tomé and Príncipe in a qualifier for the 2021 African Cup of Nations.

Today, the AFCON 2021 tournament has been brought forward one year by the African Football Confederation, due to the deadly Coronavirus. Ghana has also made changes to the leadership of the technical team, replacing Akwasi Appiah with CK Akonnor. Here is a profile of the party venue.

The Arslan Zeki Demirci sports complex is located in the Antalya province, southern Turkey.

The sports complex is part of the Emir Hotel in the Manavga district of Antalya province. It is named after the late businessman philanthropist Arslan Zeki Demirci, CEO of Emirhan Group Hotels, who passed away in 2012 at the age of 76. There are twelve soccer fields in the sports complex.

Clubs from Poland, Turkey, Bulgaria, Albania, Switzerland, Hungary, Argentina, the United Arab Emirates, Cyprus and China use the facilities for their preseason programs. It is one of the best in Turkey.

The sports complex hosted all six group stage matches of the elite round of qualification for the UEFA European Under-17 Championship 2017. It also hosted all six Group 2 matches of the elite round of the Championship standings 2017 UEFA Women’s Under-19.

On Friday, Ghana and Mali will make history by becoming the first African countries to play an international friendly match at the facilities.
