Ghana striker Fatawu Safiu late to earn massive 3 points for Trelleborgs FF

Ghana international Abdul Fatawu Safiu jumped off the bench to score on Saturday afternoon to clinch an important 1-0 win for his team Trelleborgs FF at the Swedish Superettan.

In a match on matchday 28 of the 2020 football season against Dalkurd FF at the Studenternas IP pitch, the former Asante Kotoko striker missed a starting position but was named a substitute.

After a goalless draw in the first half, the home team had a chance to take the lead in the 66th minute they were awarded a penalty kick.

Samuel Leach Holm stepped up to take responsibility, but couldn’t find the back of the net, leaving the game on a level playing field.

Two minutes later, Abdul Fatawu Safiu was introduced by the Trelleborgs FF coach to replace Erik Andersson.

The 26-year-old played an impressive game and went on to score in the 90sth minute with an assist from Mäns Soderqvist to propel his team to a 1-0 victory over Dalkurd FF.

With today’s draw, Fatawu Safiu now has 6 goals after appearing in 26 matches for Trelleborgs FF in the Swedish Superettan.
