Fitch Solutions, a research arm of a US rating agency, has awarded Ghana No. 1 in the latest risk index assessment.

Ghana, with a risk ratio of 53.9%, was first ahead of four West and Central African countries; Gabon, Ivory Coast, Nigeria and Cameroon.

According to a myjoyonline.com report on Fitch’s rating, the assessment means that Ghana is a good place to invest in both West and Central Africa, as the risk involved in doing business is lower.

According to the Fitch Solutions report, since Ghana was equally affected by the global pandemic, the Coronavirus, its economy has become quite strong.

Ghana also had 69.7% and 72.9% short-term and long-term political risk, respectively, in addition to having 44.1% operational risk.

However, the country is burdened with debt and may not meet its obligations.
