As part of the preparations for the upcoming December elections, the Ghana Police Service has published a list of some electoral districts across the country that are prone to various levels of violence and discrepancies.
According to the details of a statement issued by the Ghana Police Service, the areas have been grouped according to districts and the number of probable hotspots in the specific area.
According to the Police, the areas listed must be closely monitored to prevent or thwart any attempt to cause tension before, during and after the elections.
The areas were also selected in the 16 regions of the country.
The Ashanti region ranked first with 635 hotspots identified, including; Offinso North, Asawase, Effiduase / Asokore, Ejura / Sekyedumase and Bantama in the top five.
In the Bono region, 192 hotspots have been identified with Tain, Jaman South, Banda and Wenchi as the top four.
Other areas such as the Bono East and Ahafo regions have been observed to have 118 and 80 hot spots, respectively.
Meanwhile, the leadership of the Ghana Police Service has already given indications that they are ready and ready to defend the peace during and after the elections.
