The Ghana Methodist Church, led by the Rev. Professor Joseph MY Edusa-Eyison, Diocesan Bishop of North Accra (NAD), has inaugurated the Ashongman Circuit to govern the affairs of nine societies within the Diocese.

The societies are; The Most Reverend Methodist Societies KA Dickson Memorial, Immanuel, New Ashongman, Comet, Berekuso, Ayim, Adenkerebi, Boi and Sesemi.

The opening ceremony was held at The Most Reverend KA Dickson Memorial Methodist Society, Ashongman Estates on Saturday.

Bishop Edusa-Eyison also inaugurated the Minister Superintendent, the Most Reverend Paul Kwaku Ntiri Adu Jnr, and brought in the Circuit Coordinating Officers to handle the various affairs of the circuit.

They included; coordinating officers, council of lay women, coordinating office for education and youth development, coordinating office for ministries, finance, development and social services.

The Ministers and Officers resolved to continue to preach the message of salvation to all and to testify of God’s love to all, while working spiritually and socially with love to support the circuit in all its religious activities. They also pledged to educate the children of the Church to grow in the knowledge and love of Christ.

Bishop Edusa-Eyison quoting the Book of Jeremiah 1: 4-10 in his sermon on the subject: “A vessel chosen by God”, taken from “Jeremiah 1: 4 – 10”, said as the Lord called Jeremiah by His writing. field and used it, it was in the same way that God had called the Minister Superintendent and the coordinating officers to work for him and the country.

He said that the lifestyles exhibited by some ministers of God inside or outside the church were questionable, meanwhile they were chosen by God to serve as light and bring prosperity and salvation to all.

He said that growth was expected from all organizations that were alive and that no progressive institution would allow stunted growth and asked the Minister Superintendent to ensure that the Circuit grew qualitatively and quantitatively.

“The church, therefore, should not get excited about anticipated growth. The Ghana Methodist Church is expected to grow by seven percent in population by the end of the year, and this leadership must go to great lengths to reach the goal.

“You must preach an unadulterated word of God to win more people for the Church and God. You must preach a redemptive religion and good news to bring total liberation to all and tackle the social problems that lie under the rug with all boldness, “he advised.

Bishop Edusa-Eyison admonished society leaders to stand on the side of society’s marginalized, needy, and vulnerable and preserve, purify, and spice up people’s lives.

He also asked them to be patient in dealing with their parishioners and urged them to lead the lives of ‘leading by example’ in others so as not to mislead others.

“When you see a man’s wife here, don’t look at her. Don’t look at anything you shouldn’t look at. Holiness should be your hallmark, ”he warned.

He pleaded with the leaders to emulate Most’s exemplary lifestyle. The Rev. Dickson, who was named after the church as a great teacher and administers the word in local languages in addition to the English language to allow the common person to understand the impact that will take place.

The Most Reverend Adu Jnr, the Minister Superintendent, said his office would ensure that they grow beyond the seven percent increase in membership as directed by the bishop of NAD by adopting better ways of evangelizing.

This would promote the enthusiasm of the young people in the word and improve their understanding.

Although he assured that they spearheaded the measures to support the needy and vulnerable, he promised to also organize the construction of quality schools and the training of teachers to impart knowledge to children within the areas of the Circuit.
