Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, vice president candidate of the Democratic National Congress (NDC) says as a nation, “It is a fact that our socio-economic conditions are rapidly deteriorating under the current New Patriotic Party (PNP) administration.

“The country faces a bleak socioeconomic future. The economy is rapidly collapsing, nepotism and state capture have characterized our political economy by the action and inaction of the PNP, we are experiencing high levels of insecurity and security is no longer even guaranteed or assured. “

Professor Opoku Agyemang, whose sentiments were embodied in the 2020 NDC elections, “People’s Manifesto: Jobs and Prosperity for All,” explained that the PNP’s adherence to the rule of law is just a mirage.

She said: “Our educational system, once highly valued, has been politicized and devalued. This is why I am happy to join our presidential candidate, Mr. John Dramani Mahama, in rescuing this country on December 7, 2020. ”

He stated that the gender balance in the NDC leadership offered hope for a resounding victory.
The NDC Gender Balance as the first vice-presidential candidate of a major political party in the country means inclusive and participatory democracy, which prioritizes the needs of all.

“The head loaders (Kayayei), the Okada horsemen, the market women, the merchants, the farmers, the seamstresses, the tailors, the hairdressers, the beauticians, the carpenters, the masons, the steel binders, the mechanics of cars, fishermen, teachers, nurses, security officers, people with disabilities and everyone else, regardless of gender, religion, ethnicity, profession or geographic location.

“To maximize the benefits of this gender balance for the national rescue mission undertaken by the NDC, I call for the full participation of every electorate to vote en masse for Mr. Mahama and the NDC parliamentary candidates. I urge you to be part of the victory process, ”he said.

Professor Opoku Agyemang noted that “having worked closely with former President John Dramani Mahama as a former Minister of Education, I know that he is a man of vision, a leader we can trust and a public servant of integrity.

“He is a courageous leader who makes the right decisions in the national interest at all times. I promise to apply myself diligently and dedicate all my energies and intellect to ensure a resounding victory for the NDC and for our country, Ghana. With God on our side, victory is assured ”.

He said former President Mahama has opened a new chapter in NDC leadership and the country’s political architecture by endorsing the first vice presidential candidate; a manifestation of the NDC’s belief in gender justice and inclusion.

Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, National President of the NDC, also explained that it is a social democratic party, the NDC believes in an egalitarian society where there is equal opportunity for all Ghanaians.

He said equal opportunity refers to the right to adequate and affordable health care, decent jobs, quality education regardless of gender or creed, the freedom to practice religion and participate in religious activities, and the freedom to pursue one’s interests. economic one.

He said the Party therefore seeks to empower the defenseless, liberate the oppressed, liberate the poor, assimilate the marginalized, and extend equal dignity to vulnerable members of Ghana’s population.

Mr. Ofosu Ampofo said that since 1992, the NDC has tried to achieve the goals through the various administrations that the Ghanaian electorate gave the Party the opportunity to lead.

“We have endeavored to significantly improve the standard of living for Ghanaians in all sectors of our lives and to provide opportunities for better education, health and business.

“In the education sector, the previous NDC administration provided infrastructure for the expansion of upper secondary schools in every corner of the country.

“In health, we provided an unprecedented health infrastructure that served the country to combat the COVID-19 outbreak,” said Mr. Ofosu Ampofu.

He said that the large number of road projects, undertaken in the immediate past NDC Administration, and the extensive provisions laid down for the future, have enhanced economic activities that will lead to better accessibility to all parts of the country.

He said that in the energy sector, the NDC carried out an infrastructure development that effectively ended the ‘dumsor’. “Today, if Ghanaians enjoy continuous electricity in their homes and businesses, it is due to the prudent and extensive investments in infrastructure made by the latest NDC administration led by President John Dramani Mahama in the energy sector.”

He said: “NDC has had a positive impact on the lives of the people of Ghana in all aspects of our lives.

He said that the NDC Election 2020 Manifesto contains many of the ideas and included many new projects and programs that will improve the lives of all Ghanaians.

“From health to education, to agriculture and tourism, everyone will find new policies that will have a positive impact on their lives. We recognize the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the lives of all of our people, ”he said.

Mr. Ofosu Ampofo claimed that the current educational system was disrupted, “our healthcare facilities have been tested to their limits, people’s businesses have been negatively affected and so has the income of many of our people, particularly those of the private and informal sectors ”.

He said that the 2020 NDC Election Manifesto laid out broad plans to move the country into a better position, not only to restore what Ghanaians lost, but to raise the standard of living for all Ghanaians.

“This People’s Manifesto has been prepared with the ordinary man and woman in the street in mind. It is a social contract that the NDC is presenting to the people of this country; Give us your mandate and hold us strictly responsible for the things you find here.

“Vote John Dramani Mahama for President and together let’s move Ghana forward,” declared Mr. Ofosu Ampofo.
