Ghana FA President Kurt Okraku Gets WAFU Zone B Role

The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has been appointed Second Vice President of Zone B of the West African Football Union (WAFU) according to the Statutes of the Union.

Mr. Okraku became president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) following a highly contested election in Accra last year.

The soft-spoken soccer manager has earned many fans with his approach to issues since he ascended to the throne.

He is widely acclaimed for changing the narrative by being transparent and accountable to the football fraternity.

Mr. Okraku has a BA from the University of Ghana, trained as a journalist at the Ghana Institute of Journalism and also has an MBA from the University of Liverpool. While in the UK, he also received several certificates in marketing, hospitality and tourism management.

The former Dreams FC banker is an astute soccer manager and his name is synonymous with soccer management and sits on various executive committees of the Ghana Soccer Association as well as the national team, the Ghana Black Stars.

He again served as Administrative Manager of the Ghana League Club Association (GHALCA) from 2008 to 2010.

Before ascending to the eminent GFA presidential throne, Mr. Simeon-Okraku was the chairman of the MTN FA Cup Committee, a position he held smoothly to the admiration of one and all.

Therefore, it is certainly well equipped to hold the fort on the West African zonal front.
