The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Match Review Committee has noted that the request for penalty and red card by referee Daniel Oteng Appiah and fourth official Richmond Adjei in the game between Berekum Arsenals and BA United was correct .

BA United expressed their displeasure at the conduct of referee Oteng Appiah and fourth official Adjei, who officiated their match against Berekum Arsenals at Golden City Park on January 9, 2021.

According to his complaint, the aforementioned referees arranged a very “dubious and dubious” penalty against BA United in the fourth minute of the first half, along with showing an unjustified red card to his player after referee Oteng Appiah had spoken to his assistant Richmond Adjei.

The Committee, after reviewing the match, announced that “there was a clear handball situation in the area and that the sanction was justly granted by the referee.

On the red card, the Referee consulted the Fourth Official before taking action on the expulsion. The Committee, therefore, considers the referee’s decision to be a correct action ”.

The Committee noted that some Arsenals officials intermittently rushed towards the fourth official to challenge the decision of the center referee.

Therefore, he recommended that this aspect of his complaint be referred to the GFA Disciplinary Committee.
