Ghana FA Executive Council member Dr. Toni Aubynn has praised the work ethic of the association’s head, Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku.

Okraku has been a man on a mission since he replaced Kwesi Nyantakyi as the new president of the Ghana Football Association.

The position of the former CEO of Dreams FC has been legitimized after the Court of Arbitration for Sport affirmed his position after a landmark ruling last week.

He has instituted several measures to restore trust in the association and Dr. Aubynn was impressed with his colleague’s work ethic.

“The president does not sleep, he can call me around 1 in the morning to ask for ideas, I can assure him. I know that he is 100% totally committed to the work he is doing ”, is quoted by Atinka FM.

“People complain, but I personally know that the FA has a good vision of Ghana football and wants the best for Ghana football, let us demand the responsibility of the FA and demand the performance of the FA.

“Looking at the kind of work the president is doing, I think the monthly salary of GHC12,000 for him (Kurt Okraku) is fair.”

Since taking office in late 2019, a number of initiatives aimed at the well-being of the next generation have been renewed to solve the ills of Ghana soccer.

Plans for athletes to enroll in government scholarship programs and Colts Football’s resurgence that directly informed the creation of a youth committee come to mind. However, the main initiative introduced has to be the “Catch The Young Umpires” policy.

This policy aims to develop youth in refereeing games starting at the youth level with a view to seeing them become world-class officials.

Many projects over the years have focused on developing the talents of athletes with little to no attention paid to equipping the key people in black at the heart of competition at all levels of the sport.

The focus is on the future, but the people of today have not been left behind, as the GFA’s “Bring Back The Love” campaign highlights efforts to raise the profile of Ghana’s leagues.
