Hundreds of women protesting the streets of the Greater Accra region, Ghana, say the Election Commission reverses President Akufo-Addo’s declaration as the winner of the December 7 presidential election.
According to the women who wear red and are supporters of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), they believe that the elections were rigged to favor the New Patriotic Party (PNP) of Akufo-Addo.
The PNP candidate defeats his rival after he obtained 51.59 percent of the valid votes cast against John Mahama of the NDC, who obtained 47.36 percent.
Women add themselves to saying that the electoral process is not free, fair and transparent.
